Welcome to the website for the Smith College Club of the Triangle. This club serves Smith College alumnae living in or around the communities of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The latest - We held a Lecture and Wine tasting on March 2nd by Smith College Geology professor Larry Meinert. We learned a great deal about how local geology can strongly affect the character of wine. It was a lovely day at the NC State Arboretum where the event was held allowing us to walk through the gardens after the lecture. See below for pictures!
Meetings
The steering committee usually meets at the California Pizza Kitchen in the Southpoint Mall Durham on an as needed basis. Meeting announcements will be sent to our area email list. Events: Past and Future
Cookie Swap
Once again the annual Cookie Swap
was well attended and lots of fun (December 9th 2007). See pictures below! We have 17!!
Smithies currently in residence this year from the Triangle area. We
got together to drink tea, eat cookies, and put together cookie-filled
exam survival care packages for these special Triangle-area Smithies. We
have gotten two lovely thank you cards thus far from very appreciative students.
Student recruitment is one of our priorities. This past fall we attended three College Fairs in the Triangle. Treasurer Patricia Basta and Co-President Bridey Maxwell represented Smith at the NC School of Science and Math. The Wake County fair was manned by Melissa Staples and Jennifer Alexander. And finally, Co-President Jenni Hoffman, Lucy Park and Karen Wilson attended the Orange County, Chapel Hill-Carrboro College Fair at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill.
Membership
We start collecting club dues for the 2007-2008 fiscal year in May/June. We encourage you to pay your dues, as it is really important for the functioning of the Club. We send out a mailing each year with our planned events as well as a dues form. To pay dues anytime, please see the club dues page.
